Innovation Island Summit 2025 Set to Kick off in Colombo

 The summit will bring together over 150 distinguished participants from 50 countries, offering a high-level platform to explore the transformative dynamics of island nations and the innovations emerging from them.

The summit's inaugural session will feature a keynote address by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, with Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya and Minister Vijitha Herath also addressing the gathering. Amitabh Kant, India's G20 Sherpa, is set to participate and contribute his expertise on key initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, and sustainability projects like the Green Hydrogen Mission.

Ministers, parliamentarians, senior officials, and subject matter experts from around the world will engage in panels and roundtable discussions to examine innovative solutions for accelerated development and growth. The two-day summit will cover major themes including the post-2030 development agenda, connectivity and infrastructure, the blue economy, energy sustainability, emerging technologies, and the crucial role of women and youth as agents of change.

The event is expected to become a premier international forum, promoting collaboration and fostering partnerships between island states and other nations. The Innovation Island Summit will address pressing global challenges and explore strategies for building sustainable, resilient economies in island and coastal nations, with an emphasis on collaboration and innovation to shape the future.
