Immigration and Emigration Office Extends Hours, Now Open 24/7

In a significant move to accommodate the growing demand for foreign travel permits, the Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced that its Foreign Travel Permit Issuance Division will now be operational 24 hours a day, This change aims to enhance convenience for travelers and reduce waiting times, ensuring seamless services for those in need of travel permits.

To complement this extended service, a special bus service will also be introduced, operating throughout the night. The buses will run from the Department's main office to Battaramulla, providing easy and reliable transportation for those utilizing the 24-hour services.

The Minister of Immigration emphasized that this initiative reflects the government's commitment to improving public services and supporting the nation’s international travel needs. The new round-the-clock operation is expected to significantly ease the process for individuals requiring urgent travel permits, ensuring greater accessibility and efficiency for all.
