
DG of (NCGG) and Head of the Indian Delegation meets Prime Minister

It is stated that the main discussion at this meeting was regarding obtaining the cooperation of NCGG to launch capacity development programs for officers of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was also signed between NCGG and the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (SLIDA) for this purpose.
The meeting focused on enhancing the professional capabilities of Sri Lanka Administrative Service officers to ensure more effective, efficient and citizen-centric public service delivery.
Prime Minister Dr. Amarasuriya emphasized the importance of a well-trained and competent public sector to strengthen good governance and build public trust.
She emphasized the need for structured capacity development programs to improve the quality of governance and service delivery in the country, and it was noted that the main areas of focus of the training program, including data and information-based policymaking, research-based governance, data-based decision-making, and rational policymaking, were also discussed.
The Director General emphasized the adaptability of this program, emphasizing that training modules will be developed to meet the evolving needs of the public sector in Sri Lanka.
He further emphasized that the program will be given flexibility in including specific topics relevant to the country's administrative landscape.
Dr. Ashutosh Pal Singh, representing NCGG, and a group of high-ranking officials from the Indian High Commission attended this meeting.
