
First Meeting of COPA to Convene on 25th February

The inaugural meeting of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) under the National People's Power (NPP) government is set to take place on February 25th.
The session will be chaired by MP Aravinda Senarath, who emphasized the importance of discussing the audit reports for the year 2023 during this meeting.
Officials from the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) have been summoned to attend, as the COPA aims to address key financial matters and ensure transparency in the management of public funds.
MP Aravinda Senarath stressed that the committee’s role in holding public institutions accountable will be crucial for good governance and fiscal responsibility in the country.
The meeting is expected to pave the way for a thorough review of the audit reports and prompt necessary actions to address any discrepancies.
