In a heartfelt tribute to the late Professor Sangeeth Nipun Sanath Nandasiri, the Department of Posts has issued a commemorative stamp to mark his 83rd birthday. The stamp was unveiled on February 15th at a special ceremony held at the Udahamulla Siri Jinarathanaramaya Temple.
The event saw the presentation of the First Day Cover, issued by the Stamp Bureau of the Postal Department, by Postmaster General Ruwan Sathkumara to Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, the Minister of Health and Mass Media.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Minister of Buddhism, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, as well as scholars Malkanthi Nandasiri and Anuradha Nandasiri. Director of the Stamp Bureau, Lanka de Silva, along with a number of artists, also participated in the celebration of Professor Nandasiri's remarkable contribution to the arts and culture.
