Jaffna District MP K. Ilankumaran Injured in Road Accident

K. Ilankumaran, the Member of Parliament for Jaffna District representing the National People's Power (NPP), was injured in a road accident on the Chavakachcheri road. The incident occurred while MP Ilankumaran was traveling from Kilinochchi to Jaffna when his vehicle collided with a small lorry that had turned unexpectedly towards Chavakachcheri.
As a result of the collision, MP Ilankumaran, his assistant, and the driver of the vehicle sustained injuries. The three were promptly admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment. Authorities are yet to confirm the severity of their injuries.
The Chavakachcheri Police have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.
