The Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) has today unveiled its first Monetary Policy Report for the year 2025, in line with the guidelines established under the Central Bank Act No. 16 of 2023. This report provides insights into the economic conditions and key considerations that influenced the decisions made by the Monetary Policy Board during its January 2025 review.

The Monetary Policy Report includes an analysis of domestic and global economic developments, inflation trends, and other critical factors that shaped the Board’s approach to the country's monetary policy. This marks an essential step in ensuring transparency and accountability in the central bank’s policy-making process.

The CBSL is committed to releasing these comprehensive reports twice a year, further strengthening its efforts to maintain effective communication with the public, financial markets, and stakeholders about its monetary policy stance and economic outlook.

For further details, the full report can be accessed on the Central Bank of Sri Lanka's official website.
