Navin Dissanayake, the former Minister of Sports, Tourism, and Plantation Industries, as well as the former Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province, has been appointed as the new Vice Chairman of the United National Party (UNP).

Dissanayake, a seasoned politician with extensive experience in government service, has previously held prominent ministerial roles and demonstrated his leadership in various capacities. His appointment comes at a crucial time for the party, as it seeks to strengthen its position in the political landscape.
