A special meeting of Parliament has been called today (14) at the request of Prime Minister, in accordance with Standing Orders 16 of Parliament
The meeting was announced through an Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2423/04 issued by the Speaker on February 10, 2025.
The session is set to begin at 9:30 am, with all Members of Parliament instructed to attend. During the meeting, the Speaker will provide updates on the decisions related to the petitions filed in the Supreme Court concerning the Local Government Elections (Special Provisions) Bill. Additionally, the relevant Ministerial Consultative Committee will convene today to review the draft bill.
