The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has announced that there will be no power outages tomorrow, February 12. The decision comes after the board confirmed that the existing electricity demand can be managed effectively without the need for scheduled power cuts.

This follows a series of power disruptions earlier in the week. On Sunday, February 9, a sudden power outage occurred when all three generators at the Norochcholai Power Station became inoperable. In response, the CEB implemented emergency power cuts across the island to prevent a larger crisis.

On both February 10 and 11, a one-and-a-half-hour power outage was imposed in four groups across the island, with a total of six hours of outages between 3:30 pm and 9:30 pm. These measures were aimed at balancing the national electricity supply and demand. However, the situation is expected to improve, and no outages will be scheduled for tomorrow, February 12.

The CEB assured the public that it is closely monitoring the situation and working to ensure the stability of the electricity supply.
