The Paddy Marketing Board has officially announced that its warehouses will be open starting today to purchase paddy at the government-mandated prices. Under the scheme, Nadu paddy will be purchased at Rs. 120 per kilogram, Samba at Rs. 125, and Kiri Samba at Rs. 132.

While the paddy harvest for this year’s Maha season has been relatively small up until now, large-scale harvesting is expected to pick up momentum in the coming days. The government has proactively set in place all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth procurement process.

This initiative is a part of the government's effort to support local farmers and stabilize the paddy market. Paddy warehouses are ready and prepared to handle the expected increase in the volume of paddy arriving from the fields.

Farmers are encouraged to bring their harvest to the nearest warehouses to take advantage of the guaranteed prices set by the government.
