New Chairman Appointed for National Youth Services Council

Attorney-at-Law Supun Wijeratne has been appointed as the new Chairman of the National Youth Services Council (NYSC) of Sri Lanka. He officially assumed duties in the role today, February 3, 2025. In addition to his appointment as Chairman, Wijeratne will also serve as the Director General of Youth Affairs of Sri Lanka.
Prior to his new appointment, Supun Wijeratne was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Youth Services Council. His extensive experience in youth-related affairs includes serving as the Chairman of the Moratuwa Youth Club Regional Federation and Vice Chairman of the Colombo District Youth Club Federation.
Wijeratne, a graduate of the Open University of Sri Lanka, is also a prominent figure in youth leadership, having been a member of the Fourth Youth Parliament. He previously held the position of Colombo District Group Leader within the Youth Parliament.
His leadership is expected to bring fresh perspectives and enhance youth development across Sri Lanka.
