Maldives Calls for Full Implementation of Gaza Ceasefire

The Maldives has reiterated its strong support for upholding the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, emphasizing the importance of ensuring its full and effective implementation. In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 3 February 2025, the nation welcomed the outcomes of the Arab Six-Party Consultative Meeting held in Cairo, Egypt, on 1 February.
The Maldives called on all parties involved to fully adhere to the ceasefire and urged immediate action to facilitate the entry of humanitarian assistance into Gaza. The statement highlighted the urgency of delivering relief, shelter, and recovery resources to the affected population without delay.
Further emphasizing the need for international cooperation, the Maldives welcomed the proposal to host a conference for Gaza’s reconstruction. The country also reiterated its stance on the two-state solution, calling for concrete steps from the international community toward the establishment of an independent and sovereign State of Palestine, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
