Suspects Identified in Ambalantota Triple Murder Case
Police have confirmed that a triple murder that occurred last night (February 2) in the Allegoda area of Ambalantota was not the work of a criminal gang, nor did it involve individuals from abroad or in prison. Initial investigations indicate that the killings were the result of an ongoing dispute between two parties.
According to police reports, a group of six individuals attacked another group with sharp weapons, leading to the deaths of three people aged 29, 39, and 45. The incident took place at a residence, and after the assault, the attackers were seen shouting near the house. The victims were rushed to the Ambalantota Hospital but were pronounced dead upon arrival.
The dispute between the two groups reportedly stemmed from a conflict over illegal alcohol sales, which had been escalating for some time. Authorities have identified the suspects involved in the attack and are conducting operations to apprehend them.
The police have stated that the murders are the result of a personal conflict rather than gang activity, and investigations are continuing to bring those responsible to justice.
