The Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) recorded a weekly turnover of Rs. 33.2 billion for the week ending 31 January 2025, marking a decline compared to the Rs. 41.8 billion turnover seen in the previous week. Despite the decrease in turnover, the market performance displayed mixed results.
The All Share Price Index (ASPI) posted a positive return of 1.21%, reflecting some gains in the broader market. However, the S&P SL20, which tracks the performance of the 20 largest companies on the exchange, experienced a slight decline, posting a return of -0.11%.

Market analysts suggest that the market’s performance may have been impacted by a combination of factors, including investor sentiment and external market influences. As always, market participants are advised to closely monitor developments over the coming weeks.
