The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has confirmed that all arrangements are in place for the 77th Independence Day celebrations, which will be held at Independence Square under the theme "Let's Join the National Renaissance."

This year, the celebrations will be conducted in a more modest manner, with a focus on minimizing costs and ensuring minimal disruption to the public, while encouraging greater public participation.

In a significant change, the military parade will involve 1,873 personnel, a reduction of 1,511 compared to last year's contingent. Additionally, armored vehicles from the three armed forces will not be part of this year's parade, a move aimed at keeping the event simpler and more in line with the theme of national unity.

The aerial display will also see a reduction in scale, with only three aircraft participating this year, compared to the 19 aircraft used last year. These aircraft will be tasked with carrying the national flag during the parade.

Furthermore, the traditional 25-gun salute by the Navy will take place aboard a ship at sea at 12:00 noon, continuing the longstanding tradition of honoring the nation's independence.

The Ministry has expressed confidence that the event will be conducted with dignity and respect for the nation's heritage, while ensuring a more inclusive and cost-effective celebration.
