A vehicle belonging to the Presidential Secretariat was involved in a serious accident in the Thalawa area at around 1 a.m. today, leaving four individuals hospitalized, according to the Thalawa Police.
The accident occurred while the vehicle was en route to Colombo after attending an event in Jaffna on January 31. Authorities reported that the injured were initially rushed to Thalawa Hospital in an accompanying vehicle, before being transferred to Anuradhapura Hospital for further treatment.
Sources at Anuradhapura Hospital confirmed that two of the injured are in critical condition and have been placed in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The identities of those involved in the accident have not been disclosed, and investigations are underway to determine the cause of the incident.
The Presidential Secretariat has yet to issue an official statement regarding the accident.
