Ishadi Amanda of Sri Lanka has made history by becoming the first runner-up at the prestigious 40th Mrs. World pageant, held in Las Vegas. The global beauty contest saw South Africa's Tshego Gaelae take home the coveted Mrs. World 2025 title, while Thailand's Ploy Panperm claimed the second runner up spot.

Amanda, who earned her spot on the international stage by winning the Mrs. Sri Lanka World crown at the national finals in Colombo last month, was one of the standout contestants in the competition. Her remarkable achievement has brought pride to Sri Lanka, marking a significant milestone for the nation in global pageant history.

Additionally, Nishi Ranathunga, a dual Sri Lankan and New Zealand citizen, represented New Zealand in the pageant. Ranathunga, the reigning Mrs. New Zealand World, is no stranger to pageant success, having previously won titles like Mrs. Woman of the Universe New Zealand 2022 and Mrs. Universe New Zealand 2022 Second Runner-Up.

Both Amanda and Ranathunga’s participation in the Mrs. World 2025 pageant showcased the global reach and talent of Sri Lankans and their contributions to the world of beauty and empowerment.
