Prime Minister inspects the Japura Engineering Faculty Complex

Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya recently visited the ongoing construction of the new Engineering Faculty Complex at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, located in the Mattegoda area.

During her visit, Dr. Amarasuriya held productive discussions with university officials and other relevant parties, focusing on accelerating the construction process to ensure the timely completion of the facility.

The Prime Minister also addressed the ongoing shortage of lecturers in the university system, emphasizing the importance of finding immediate solutions to strengthen faculty resources across institutions. Dr. Amarasuriya noted that tackling this issue is crucial for maintaining the quality of education in Sri Lanka’s universities.

In addition, the Prime Minister underscored the necessity of prioritizing research activities within the university system. She highlighted that fostering innovation and research-driven initiatives is vital for the development of the country’s academic and scientific landscape.
