In a significant move, the President of Sri Lanka, in consultation with the Ministry of Defence, has appointed Air Vice Marshal Vasu Bandu Edirisinghe as the new Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF).

Edirisinghe, a distinguished officer with decades of service in the SLAF, takes over the top position from the outgoing Commander. With a wealth of experience in both operational and administrative roles, he is expected to bring a new era of leadership to the Air Force, continuing its modernization and strategic development.
