An awareness programme to introduce the process of electronic identity cards (e-NIC) and discuss related issues was held today (24) at Sri Lanka Communication Technology Representative (ICTA) under the leadership of Deputy Minister Engineer Eranga Weeraratne on Digital Economy.

Discussed here about the key challenges and the operations process emerged in the implementation of the Electronic ID project, exchange of ideas and identifying solutions for emerging issues by concerned stakeholders.

your imageENICFor this awareness programme, President Chief Advisor on Digital Economy and President of Sri Lanka Communication Technology Representative Dr. Hans Vijayasuriya and its Director Mr. Sanjaya Karunasena were also together and they made a long explanation about the Electronic ID project.

Along with the digital economic program that is operating according to the vision of President Anura Kumara Dissanayatha, the Electronic ID project was implemented and the aim of this awareness program was to formulate it and provide a clear understanding to the people about it. 

Awareness programme onintroduction of Electronics National Identity Card (e-NIC) process and discussing related issues was held today (24) at Sri Lankan Communications Technology Agent Agent (ICTA) in Colombo under the leadership of Digital Economy Minister Engineer Eranga Veeraratna.

Discussed key challenges and processes in implementing the Electronics National Identity Card Program along with exchange of opinions between associated parties and identifying possible solutions to the issues arising regarding this.

Hans Vijayasuriya and his worker Sanjaya Karunasena, Chief Advisor on the Digital Economy of the President and President of the Sri Lankan Communications Technology Agent participated in the awareness program, along with a long briefing about the Electronial National Identity Card Project.

The awareness programme aimed to anchor the Electronic National Identity Card Program implemented in accordance with the digital economic programme which is implemented as aim of President Anura Kumara Dissanayaka.

An awareness programme to introduce the process and discuss issues related to the Electronic National Identity Card (e-NIC) was held today (24) at the Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), Colombo. The event was conducted under the patronage of Deputy Minister of Digital Economy, Eranga Weeraratne.  

The session aimed to address key challenges and operational aspects of the e-NIC project, providing a platform for stakeholders to exchange ideas and identify solutions. The Chief Advisor to the President on Digital Economy and the Chairman of ICTA Dr. Hans Wijayasuriya, along with ICTA Director, Sanjaya Karunasena, also participated in the programme, contributing valuable insights to the discussion.  

This initiative marks a significant step in streamlining the implementation of e-NICs and ensuring a smooth rollout for citizens, aligning with the President’s vision for a digitally empowered economy.
