Rainy condition is expected to continue further in Northern, North-central, Eastern, Uva and Central provinces.

The Department of Meteorology has issued a weather advisory indicating that showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at times in the Northern, Eastern, North-central, Uva, and Central provinces, as well as in the Hambantota district.

Fairly heavy showers, with rainfall amounts of up to 75 mm, are anticipated in certain areas of the Eastern and Uva provinces, as well as in the districts of Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Polonnaruwa. Showers or thundershowers will also affect several other regions across the island.

In addition to the rainfall, fairly strong winds of 30-40 km/h are expected at times, particularly over the Eastern slope of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, Eastern, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Hambantota and Monaragala districts.

The general public is strongly advised to take adequate precautions to minimize the potential impact of temporary localized strong winds and lightning during the thundershowers. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely and will provide further updates if necessary.

Residents in affected areas are urged to stay informed and exercise caution.
