During a visit to the Morakatiya Paddy Storage Complex in Embilipitiya on yesterday ( January 18), he encouraged farmers to contribute at least 500kg of paddy to the storage facilities.
The collected paddy will be processed into rice and sold to consumers at lower prices to ensure affordability. “We are committed to ending the rice mafia and ensuring fair practices,” the Deputy Minister stated.
