The highly anticipated World Press Photo Exhibition 2024 officially opened to the public on January 16, 2025, at the Arcade Independence Square in Colombo. The event was inaugurated by Deputy Minister of Media and Health, Dr. Hansaka Wijemuni.

your imageWorld Press Photo ExhibitionOrganized by the Embassy of the Netherlands in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Press Institute (SLPI), the exhibition will be on display in Colombo until January 20, 2025, offering visitors an opportunity to explore powerful visual storytelling.

Following its Colombo debut, the exhibition will travel to the Cultural Centre in Jaffna from January 24 to 27, before moving to Galle’s Municipal Hall from January 31 to February 2. The exhibition will return to Colombo at Cinnamon Life from February 8 to 10, marking a significant return to the country since its last visit in 2002.

These entries were carefully judged by 31 esteemed photojournalists from around the world, showcasing some of the most compelling and thought-provoking visual stories of our time.
