A group of fishermen brought ashore a floating house discovered in the seas off Nagarkovil, Jaffna, early this morning (January 15).
Authorities suspect the structure may have drifted into Sri Lankan waters from neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Taiwan, or Thailand.
The house features several traditional elements linked to Buddhism, adding to the mystery surrounding its origin. Investigations are underway to determine its source.
