Several parliamentary officers have been summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) tomorrow ( January 15) to provide statements regarding the inclusion of a doctorate title before the name of Minister of Justice and National Integration, Harshana Nanayakkara, on the official Parliament website.
Among those called are a senior officer from the House Registry Office with other relevant staff. Earlier, the Acting Director of Communications of Parliament and other individuals were also questioned. CID officers have visited Parliament to record statements as part of the investigation.
A letter from the Leader of the House’s office indicated that the addition of the doctorate title for Minister Nanayakkara on the Parliament website was based on information supplied by their office.
The investigation began after Minister Nanayakkara filed a complaint with the CID on December 16, alleging the publication of incorrect information on the Parliament website.
