The Agrarian Insurance Board has announced that compensation for crops damaged in the November 2024 floods will be distributed by the end of January 2025.
The Agrarian Insurance Board Chairman Pemasiri Jasingarachchi stated that nearly 95% of damage assessments have been completed. Assessments in Jaffna, Kilinochchi, Trincomalee, and Mannar are in their final stages.
Once the Agrarian Development Centers finalize and submit the recommended compensation documents, the funds will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of affected farmers.
