The Ministry of Religious and Cultural Affairs has confirmed that 3,500 Sri Lankans will participate in the Hajj pilgrimage this year.

An agreement to facilitate this was signed between Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Abdulfattah Bin Sulaiman Mashat, and Sri Lanka’s Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi.

The ministry also revealed that discussions focused on enhancing facilities for pilgrims and increasing the number of participants from Sri Lanka in the future.
