A schoolgirl who was abducted in Daulagala, Kandy, on January 11th has been found safely, along with the primary suspect, aboard a luxury bus near the Ampara Bus Stand on January 13th.
The suspect, a close relative of the victim, allegedly kidnapped the girl following a dispute over their proposed marriage. Authorities discovered the vehicle used in the abduction abandoned in Polonnaruwa. The driver of the van was apprehended on January 12.
Investigations into the case are still ongoing as police continue to gather details. The victim has been returned to her family, and authorities are working to ensure justice is served.
