Former Minister Indradasa Hettiarachchi Passes Away at 98

Former Minister Indradasa Hettiarachchi, a prominent political figure and a long-serving member of Sri Lanka's Parliament has passed away at the age of 98.

Mr.Hettiarachchi, who entered Parliament in 1977 from the Kalutara District as a member of the United National Party (UNP), served for 17 years, representing the people until his retirement in 1993.

 During his political career, he held several key ministerial positions, notably overseeing the Coconut Industry and Crop Diversification.

The late politician’s body has been laid to rest at the Jayaratne Funeral Parlor in Borella. Tomorrow, the body will be taken to his residence in Pokunuwita, Henegama. A funeral service will be held next Wednesday at the Janasetha Foundation Stadium in Henegama, where family, friends, and political associates will bid him farewell.
