In a notable boost to the tourism sector, 70,944 international visitors have arrived in the country between January 1st and 9th this year, marking a significant increase from the same period last year. This surge is largely attributed to a notable rise in tourists from various countries.
India tops the list of tourist arrivals, with 11,749 visitors, followed closely by Russia with 11,629 and the United Kingdom with 5,049. Other key contributors include Australia (3,055), France (2,714), China (2,516), America (2,351), and the Netherlands (2,188). Additionally, 2,134 tourists have arrived from Poland, while a substantial number, 22,039, have come from various other countries.
This year’s figures reflect a remarkable 13,101 increase in tourist arrivals compared to the same period in January 2024, demonstrating the country’s growing appeal as a prime destination for international travelers.
Tourism authorities remain optimistic about continued growth in the sector, as these early numbers suggest a strong start to the year.
