Colombo Port East Terminal to Be Completed in July This Year

The Ministry of Ports and Aviation has decided to speed up the construction of the East Terminal at the Colombo Port, aiming to complete the project by July this year.
Deputy Minister Ruwan Kodithuwakku stated that the West Terminal, developed by India’s Adani Group, is set to be completed next month.
Once both terminals are operational, the Colombo Port’s annual container handling capacity will rise from 8 million to 13 million. This enhancement is expected to significantly boost Sri Lanka’s development and international trade efforts.
