The 25th edition of the prestigious Media Excellence Awards, organized by the Sri Lanka Editors' Guild and the Sri Lanka Newspaper Institute, will take place today (7th January) at 6:00 PM at the Mount Lavinia Hotel.
This annual event aims to celebrate professional excellence in the media industry and honor those who have made significant contributions.
The awards will be presented in 18 categories, recognizing achievements across various aspects of journalism. Additionally, five senior journalists will be honored with this year's Long Service Award for their exceptional dedication to the newspaper media.
The recipients of the Long Service Award include renowned journalists Chandrika Wijesundara, Yoga Murthy, N.M. Amin, Bennett Rupasinghe, and Sanita Karim, who have all made significant contributions to the industry over many years.
