Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a prominent member of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, made a brief stopover in Sri Lanka during his en route journey to Namibia.

 Arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport. QWang Yi was greeted by a warm reception from Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong and senior officials from the Sri Lankan aviation sector.

The delegation, consisting of 18 members, was welcomed by Chairman (Retd.) Air Chief Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama and Vice Chairman Cyril Wannigama from Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka).

After the brief transit, Wang Yi and his delegation departed BIA  continuing their journey to Namibia. The stopover underlines the strong diplomatic ties between China and Sri Lanka, emphasizing the countries' collaborative engagements in global and regional matters.
