Drone Found Near Trincomalee Has No Impact on Sri Lanka

A drone discovered by a group of fishermen in the sea near Trincomalee has been confirmed to have no impact on Sri Lanka, according to the final investigation report submitted by the committee appointed to look into the incident.

The drone, which was found 59 kilometers off the coast of Trincomalee on December 27, was revealed to belong to an Indian company. The investigation further confirmed that the drone was being used for training purposes and posed no security threat to Sri Lanka.

The report, presented to the Sri Lanka Air Force Commander, states that there were no indications of any malicious intent or strategic implications related to the drone's presence in Sri Lankan waters.

Authorities have assured the public that the drone's discovery does not have any broader ramifications for national security.
