Sri Lanka secured a thrilling 7-run victory against New Zealand in the third T20 match at Saxton Oval, Nelson.
Batting first, Sri Lanka posted a formidable 218/5, thanks to Kusal Perera’s explosive century. Perera’s innings set the stage for a strong total and gave New Zealand a challenging target.
New Zealand’s chase was powered by Rachin Ravindra, who scored an impressive 69. However, the hosts fell short, managing only 211/7 against Sri Lanka’s disciplined bowling attack.
Although New Zealand won the series 2-1, Sri Lanka had a strong chance to claim the series themselves if they hadn’t let the first match slip away from an easy win.
