Sanga and Mahela Partnership with 'Clean Sri Lanka' Initiative
The program, launched today ( January 1) at the Presidential Secretariat under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, aims to promote cleanliness and sustainable practices across the nation.
Speaking to the media, Mahela Jayawardena emphasized the importance of public involvement. “As citizens, we have a great responsibility to take this project forward. This is a great start, and there’s much to do,” he said, expressing his hopes for the initiative’s success.
Kumar Sangakkara highlighted the program’s broader impact. “Although it sounds simple, this initiative carries a deeper purpose. It is crucial for the country’s development and its people. Real change will only happen when everyone participates, as the government cannot do it alone,” he remarked.
Both cricket icons applauded the initiative’s efforts to unite political and administrative sectors while encouraging a shift in societal values.
