Sri Lanka Customs has reported a historic revenue exceeding 1.5 trillion rupees for the year 2024, marking the highest earnings in the institution's history. The announcement was made by Customs Media Spokesperson and Additional Director General of Customs, Seevali Arukgoda.

The revenue figure is close to the government's set target of Rs. 1.533 trillion for the year. The remarkable performance is attributed to a combination of factors, including the government's effective tax policies, a notable increase in imports, and the improved efficiency of the tax collection process under the Customs Management.

This milestone reflects the strengthened efforts of Sri Lanka Customs in optimizing revenue collection while supporting the country's economic recovery.
