The Constitutional Council (CC) will hold a meeting today (December 31) at 11.00 a.m. in the Parliament complex under the chairmanship of Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne.
This marks the second session of the CC since the election of the new Parliament. During the meeting, the council is expected to review several proposals it has received.
A One of the key item on the agenda is the approval of Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Priyantha Weerasooriya’s appointment, which remains pending. The matter is anticipated to be discussed during today’s session.
