Special Traffic Plan for New Year’s Eve Celebrations in Colombo

 Due to large crowds and heavy traffic anticipated in Colombo, particularly in areas such as Pettah, Fort, Kompanna Vidiya, Maradana, Kollupitiya, Bambalapitiya, and Cinnamon Garden, the police have implemented measures to ease congestion and ensure smooth flow of traffic.

As part of the special plan, vehicles will be prohibited from parking along Galle Central Road, with alternative parking arrangements in place. All vehicles heading to the area will be redirected to designated free parking areas and private parking lots. Authorities are urging the public to use these facilities to avoid unnecessary traffic jams in the city.

The police have advised motorists to follow the traffic guidelines and cooperate with officers stationed throughout Colombo to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone.
