"Clean Sri Lanka" Initiative to Launch on January 1, 2025

The government will launch the "Clean Sri Lanka" program on January 1, 2025, in line with Government's policy vision, "A Rich Country, a Beautiful Life," under the leadership of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
A Presidential Task Force with 18 members has been established to manage the program. The task force, led by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, includes the Commanders of the Tri-Forces, the Acting Inspector General of Police, and the Chairman of the Urban Development Authority. The Gazette was published on December 19.
The Task Force is assigned to design, oversee, implement, track progress, and ensure the successful completion of the “Clean Sri Lanka” program within the set timeframe.
The initiative aims to promote social, environmental, and ethical progress while enhancing sustainability in various sectors. It also focuses on improving the efficiency of state institutions to achieve its goals.
