The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has summoned Yoshitha Rajapaksa, the second son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, to provide a statement regarding the ownership of a government-owned land in Kataragama.
This move comes after Major Neville Wanniarachchi, the former personal security officer of Mahinda Rajapaksa, gave a statement to the CID on December 27 as part of the ongoing investigation.
Yoshitha Rajapaksa has been requested to appear before the CID on Friday, January 3, 2025, to assist in clarifying the details surrounding the controversial land ownership. The inquiry is part of a broader investigation into potential misuse of government property.
The CID is expected to probe further into the matter to uncover any irregularities related to the land transfer and ownership.
