The Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association has reported strong legal action against 408 businesses following island-wide raids conducted during the festive season.

Since December 1, inspections were carried out at 6,581 businesses and legal actions were taken against shops and canteens selling expired food or items containing harmful coloring and flavorings.

The Association confirmed that 2,000 Public Health Inspectors have been deployed to continue these operations, ensuring food safety across the country during the festival season.
