45,000 Police Officers Deployed for Special Christmas Day Security Plan

Sri Lanka Police has announced that around 45,000 officers will be deployed to ensure security at Catholic churches across the island on Christmas Day. Military personnel will also be stationed at key locations as part of the heightened security measures, according to Police Media Spokesperson SSP Buddhika Manatunga.
In addition to security, the police have launched island-wide operations to arrest drunk drivers. Special teams have been deployed to carry out these operations systematically, SSP Manatunga stated.
Drivers are urged to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol to ensure safety during the festive season.
