Minister Nalinda Jayatissa has revealed that the upcoming new constitution will enshrine the right to access healthcare facilities as a fundamental right. Addressing the annual social service event of the All Ceylon Kidney Patients Association at the Mahaweli Center, the Minister emphasized that this provision would empower citizens to seek legal recourse through the courts in case of any violations of their healthcare rights.

The event was attended by      distinguished guests including the Association’s Chief Patron Dr. Sanjaya Heiyanthuduwa, Professor Mandika Wijeratne, and several others.

During the ceremony, the official website of the Association was launched and updated, marking a significant step towards better engagement with the public. Additionally, the 29th issue and calendar of the Vakagadu newspaper were unveiled, featuring chapters dedicated to children affected by kidney disease.

The event also featured various activities for kidney patients, and contributors to the cause were duly recognized for their support.
