A Japanese delegation, led by Sunil Gamage, the Honorary Consul General of Japan, arrived in Sri Lanka today through Katunayake Airport. The primary objective of this visit is to conduct interviews and provide job opportunities for young Sri Lankans wishing to work in Japan.

Gamage expressed optimism about the growing number of young people in Sri Lanka benefiting from employment opportunities in Japan.

He highlighted that the program has already opened doors for many youth to work in Japan, helping both countries strengthen their economic ties and provide valuable skills and experience to Sri Lankan workers.

The delegation’s visit comes as part of Japan’s ongoing effort to address labor shortages in various sectors by offering employment to skilled and unskilled workers from Sri Lanka. The interviews will focus on candidates for a wide range of job opportunities, providing them with a chance to secure employment in Japan’s thriving industries.

Mr.Gamage emphasized the importance of this collaboration, stating that the program is a significant step towards enhancing the bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Japan, while also contributing to the economic development of both nations.
