The Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) announced that around 600 raids concerning rice have been carried out across Sri Lanka as part of ongoing investigations.

In addition, Sri Lanka Customs confirmed that 35,600 metric tons of imported rice were recently released to address domestic supply shortages.

To further support these efforts, the period for importing rice has been extended until January 10, 2025. The authorities assured the public that investigations and market monitoring would continue.
