Police Implement Islandwide Security for Festive Season

Police Spokesman SSP Buddhika Manathunga stated that over 6,500 officers have been deployed in the Western Province alone to maintain security and order.

Additionally, more than 500 officers in civilian attire will patrol near religious sites and busy shopping areas to detect potential criminal activities. A special security initiative will also be implemented nationwide to protect religious places of worship, including Catholic churches.

SSP Manathunga urged the public to cooperate with authorities by reporting any suspicious individuals and staying vigilant about personal belongings and money.
