President Returns after Successful Visit to India

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake returned to Sri Lanka yesterday (December 17), concluding a productive three-day official visit to India.

The visit, conducted at the invitation of Indian President Droupadi Murmu, focused on strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. During his stay, President Dissanayake held extensive discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, key government officials, and prominent Indian business leaders.

The President’s delegation included Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism Minister Vijitha Herath, along with Labour Minister and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Prof. Anil Jayantha Fernando.

The visit emphasized Sri Lanka’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with India in areas such as economic development, tourism, and national security further solidifying the long-standing partnership between the two neighboring countries.
