CSE Hits Historic Milestone with ASPI Surpassing 14,500 Points

In a landmark achievement for the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE), the All-Share Price Index (ASPI) surged past the 14,500-point threshold for the first time in history. On December 16, 2024, the ASPI gained an impressive 295 points, or 2.08%, closing at an all-time high of 14,500.44 points.

Alongside this record-breaking performance, the S&P SL20 also saw significant gains, rising by 105.37 points, or 2.48%, to settle at 4,349.82 points at the end of the trading session.

Today's market activity saw robust trading, with a total turnover exceeding Rs. 8.27 billion. Over 211 million shares were exchanged, reflecting strong investor interest and confidence in the market's performance.

The milestone marks a positive momentum for the Colombo Stock Exchange, signaling a vibrant and growing market. Investors and analysts are closely monitoring this upward trend as the CSE continues to set new benchmarks in the Sri Lankan stock market.
